Small, home-style memory care near The Villages

Three licensed memory care homes in Wildwood and Fruitland Park, with caregivers awake around the clock and a team trained in Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

At Generations Senior Living, We Believe that there is a better way to provide dementia care than the traditional “institutional model” and We Are Raising The Bar of how personalized memory care should be given here in Central Florida.

By blending the best team of caregivers, physicians, and activities in a home environment we are able to enhance the independence and quality of life of each resident.  Our residents enjoy the privacy of spacious private or semi-private rooms, plus the use of common living, dining, and outdoor areas.

Our Memory Care accommodations have been specifically designed to offer an encouraging, supportive, and secure environment for residents with memory impairment.  Each staff member has received training specific to working with residents with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. We Invite You to come and visit Generations Senior Living Memory Care Homes to experience and feel the difference of a small, high-end memory care environment versus the traditional “institutional model.”

Generations operates 3 State of Florida licensed Assisted Living Facilities, all located less than 1 mile from The Villages. We provide Memory Care Assisted Living to residents of Sumter, Lake, Marion, and surrounding Central Florida counties.

Each resident has a personalized care plan, supported by our licensed medical director, home health nurses and a neuropsychologist.

Have questions about care for your loved one?

When is it time for memory care?

Every family’s situation is different, and there’s rarely one clear moment. These are common signs that it may be time to talk about memory care:

  • Wandering, getting lost, or leaving doors unlocked or the stove on
  • Missed medications, or doses taken twice
  • Needing help with bathing, dressing, eating or using the bathroom
  • Falls or near-falls at home
  • New confusion, agitation or anxiety, especially late in the day
  • Weight loss or skipped meals
  • The family caregiver is exhausted, or their own health is suffering

If some of these sound familiar, give us a call. We’re happy to talk through your situation, with no obligation.

Not sure yet? Talking it through can help.

What families say

Thank you to the entire Generations team. You improved the quality of my dad’s life in ways that you cannot imagine. We tried so many other facilities around The Villages, I wish that we had found Generations first!

Eric W.

Generations took care of my dad for several years. We had such a positive experience that when my mom needed placement we moved her into Generations as soon as a bed became available (which is rare!). They are genuine, hardworking, dedicated people. We’ve had a very good experience.

Ronda A.

My husband was treated with dignity and respect at Generations. He was treated like a human being, unlike our experience at other facilities which I will not name. The caregivers at Generations are the absolute best.

Linda K.

Paying for memory care

Do you accept long-term care insurance?

Yes. Many long-term care insurance policies help pay for assisted living and memory care. Our office will help you file the claim paperwork.

Do you accept Medicaid?

Yes. All three of our homes accept Florida Medicaid through the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long-Term Care program, which can help pay for care for people who qualify. Eligibility depends on income, assets and care needs. To start the process, call Florida’s Elder Helpline at 1-800-96-ELDER (1-800-963-5337).

Can veterans get help paying for care?

Wartime veterans and their surviving spouses who need help with daily activities may qualify for the VA’s Aid and Attendance benefit. See current amounts and eligibility on our Veteran’s Aid page.

Does Medicare pay for memory care?

Medicare doesn’t pay for room, board or daily personal care in assisted living or memory care. It still covers residents’ doctor visits, hospital stays, and many prescriptions and therapies.

What about paying privately?

Many families pay privately, sometimes alongside the options above. Call us to talk about rates and what’s included.

Questions about cost? We’re glad to help.
